Giedre Kumpikas’ award-winning film Wings to Remember followed by the  award winning Special The Making of Wings to Remember

A young Lithuanian pilot’s thrilling flight in a bi-plane through Nazi Germany in 1934 became truly the flight of a lifetime!
Based on archival footage, old photographs, family artifacts, the daughter’s own remembrances and her father’s personal papers, this film takes us on a breathtaking flight, then through World War II, during which lives are disrupted and people uprooted, and eventually through the hardship of immigration in 1950’s New York.

Exciting flight scenes and a moving script, which covers three countries and two continents.  Filmed on location in the Czech Republic, Lithuania and New York.  In English with some foreign dialogue and English subtitles. 47 min. Color and B&W.

Platinum Remi Award winner 42nd WorldFest Houston, 2009.
